The Finns love sports. Only problem is the results just aren’t there. And that is due to an age-old reason: lack of financial resources.
Family Inc. joined two idealists in a pursuit to change the way young Finnish athletes gather funds and in no time Kiririnki was born: a micro funding web service where any single fan can give the amount of money they wish directly to their favorite athlete and get a personal giveback from them. The projects have time limits within which the athletes must collect the minimum funds stated in order to get any finance. This makes Kiririnki a lively, social media driven platform.
The web pages, service design, logo and launch were all made by Family, and so was the name deriving from a Finnish cheering chant “Kiri, kiri” and a word meaning a ring of people, “rinki”. And furthermore, thanks to Kiririnki Family found a young and talented hurdling athlete Noora Toivo, who became our number one girl in the field of sports.
The web pages are in Finnish but well worth taking a look at: www.kiririnki.fi
